Simply saturate a cotton ball in acetone and dab it on the stain on the carpet.

Apply enough to cover the stain and allow it to soak down about half an inch. Touching the fiber might further grind in the ink then apply a spot remover or carpet cleaner with foaming action to lift up the ink. Keep blotting for 30 minutes so the alcohol has time to dissolve the ink.
