Once i do this my roof element become visible in the ground floor plan.
Revit roof plan underlay.
If the view range intersects the geometry of a level in your main view that level cannot be used as an underlay in the main view.
When you tried to underlay a floor only doors and windows were visible.
In the properties dialog box for the view you want to see the overhang lines in set the underlay drop down to be the level on which the roof was created.
Open the plan view of the level in which you want to see the roof line.
Had to crack open revit and play for a while.
In the main floor level the bottom of the primary range is set to main floor with an offset of 1.
Then select the line style you want to represent the roof overhang in the view.
So i change the underlay parameter you find this is the properties palette to the level where your roof or roof light canopy etc resides.
Three of the underlay options current level level above and level below are relative to the current level.
All other choices are absolute.
On the properties palette for range.
Base level select the level you want to underlay.
Use the underlay parameters on the properties palette to set an underlay.
The slice of the model between that level and the next level up displays.
In the project browser open a plan view.
Now it s at this point where i could just trace over the perimeter.
Now the next step is to select the linework tool from the modify tab view panel.
I thought i would see what shows on the first floor view.
Select the linework tool in the view panel.
How do you make roof lines visible in floor plans revit 1.
In this example my roof element is at level 1.
For example you may want to set an underlay for the casework in the kitchen to make it easier to place the light fixtures above.
This issue occurs because there is an incorrect view range in the main view.
You set an underlay by specifying a level.
