One additional point to consider regarding the differences between the two types of nylon is that nylon 6 is more easily recycled back into carpet known as cradle to cradle recycling than nylon 6 6 is. Overall nylon is the most expensive synthetic fiber to produce and so a nylon carpet usually costs quite a bit more than a comparable polyester carpet.
