The reason for this weight is the immense amount of 625 fill power duck down and the heavy duty arctic tech outer shell material. Next time the zipper breaks i ll take it to a tailor to get a quality zipper replacement. Jacket perfectly clean if they charge for dry cleaning i ll be even more annoyed. The only thing i would comment on is that the navy is darker than i expected showing more like a muted black. Frankly i don t wear these jackets enough to really figure out the difference because when i go skiing i layer up because that allows me to get exactly the right heat level for the temperature outside.
