5 use a damp cloth to wipe the stained area. Be cautious not to push the putty further into the carpet. It may help to either rub in a circular motion or blot at the area with a clean cloth. Lastly don t forget to let the carpet dry completely.

Grab a cotton ball and dip it into rubbing alcohol. Step 2 use a cotton ball or a washcloth and soak it in the cup. For tough stains let the vinegar sit on the stain for a few minutes before gently rubbing at the slime with the rag. Leave the detergent on the carpet for 30 minutes to soak so as to leave the putty behind. After 20 minutes place a dry cloth over the silly putty and press down to absorb the detergent.

The best way to remove slime from carpet after it dries is to use a rag to apply white vinegar directly on the slime. Use a cotton ball to remove the stain and the remaining putty. Spray a small amount of wd 40 product to the area of your putty stain and allow it to absorb into your carpet for at least 30 seconds. You can then use a soft cloth or sponge to massage the area where the wd 40 has been applied working to remove the stain.

Check periodically to determine your progress. Then scrape off the remaining putty and then wash the carpet. Use this to cover the area that the silly putty stain is on. The vinegar will work to dissolve the slime so that you can wipe it off the carpet.
