Removing adhesive carpet squares from linoleum. Luan sheeting can be used to cover up a linoleum kitchen floor. Using underlayment will make your new linoleum floor smoother than simply laying new linoleum over the old. Simply place the luan sheeting over the floor and secure it.

Continue pulling up carpet a few feet at a time and cutting it into easy to handle strips. It is possible to lay carpet wood ceramic or stone tile rubber or paint over an existing linoleum floor. Use a utility knife with a sharp new blade to cut through the carpet backing. Just grab the carpet with pliers and pull.

I m probably going to put a subfloor down and then either linoleum or tile on top of that. Rather than remove your linoleum kitchen floor your can simply cover it up. For peace of mind it would be worth trying one before working on those carpet tiles. Over time you may find that you want to remodel the floors of your home which may mean changing carpet to linoleum at some point in the history of the house.

It s just that i can t budge that carpet up even a little bit. The top is a layer of flooring material that should come off fairly easily. Is it like an indoor outdoor carpet. Roll or fold the strip secure with duct tape and remove it from the room. Remove the top layer of flooring material. Once the sheeting is down you will be able to replace the linoleum kitchen floor with the material of your choice.
