Homeowners remove tile countertops for a number of reasons. After the grout has been removed carefully chisel the trim tiles off. Any tile person will be capable of removing the backsplash. Clamp the jig so the blade cuts just shy of the factory micro bevel.

Remove the screws from the plywood layer under the granite countertop from inside the cabinets. Remove each tile from a tile countertop. Definitely get rid of the granite backsplash. Tiles may be cracked or damaged or keeping the grout clean may have become too big a task. Lightly hammer on the chisel to take off these trim tiles. Remove the tile from the surface of the countertop with a flat chisel.
